In the next month or so we will be doing away with the meetup version of our group.

Shawn has written a fancy RSVP plugin for our forums that will now let me post the KGB events here.

- While you will be able to view the thread, you will need to be logged in to see the event details and to RSVP to the event. Because events are often held at peoples homes we've also made it a requirement when registering or editing your profile to put in your real first name.

- Once you have RSVP'd to an event, anytime you reply to the thread everyone will be able to see if you are 'attending' or 'not attending' under your name.

- If you want to get email updates of thread replies, click 'reply' then select the check box 'subscribe and receive email notification of new replies'.

- To attend the next event Feb 2nd you will have to RSVP on the thread. See the KGB Events forum.

The KGB Con is almost here!

You should register for the site to arrange your trades, sell your games or buy games from other people coming to the con.
There are also some people looking for specific games to play if you want to take a look and book something.

The schedule on the day roughly is:
9 am start
10 - 12 pm Math trade table open
12:30 - 1 pm Door prizes awarded (you want to be here by now)
2 pm Raffle prize draw
9 pm end

We will also have Just by Chance Games on site! One of the raffle prizes will be a gift certificate for the store (which you can conveniently use right away)

Snacks and drinks will be available on site for small fees.
Please bring some extra change to buy some raffle tickets!

• Children ages 10 and under are free though they must be accompanied by a participating adult.
  

• All day gaming event for boardgames, wargames, miniatures, and more.
• Open gaming for up to 175 people, but feel free to schedule matches in the forums too.
• There will be door prizes and a raffle for games.
• There will be a math trade with details to come (early April registration)
• Drinks and snacks will also be available
  

The KGB (Kitchener Gathering of Boardgamers) was founded in January 2009 by a small group of gamers who wanted to plan some larger game days and expand our gamer friends.

Over the years our membership has grown to over 200 gamers and we have found there is now a bigger demand for gaming events in the area.

So we have decided to start hosting mini conventions, KGB Con's, where 100-200 people can come for board gaming, war gaming and the like. The inaugural KGB Con will be held on May 5th, 2012. One day we hope to grow again and turn these into full scale conventions.

Due to our growth we have also decided to change our website from Meetup and provide better forums where people can talk games, plan matches, organize trades and so on. In the future, capabilities will be added into the forum where you will be able to R.S.V.P to the smaller space-limited events as well. So for now, please register for the forums and pass the word about the upcoming KGB Con!
